After suffering a spinal injury in 1995 which resulted in Ian using a wheelchair, he has pushed himself and become a top athlete in multiple sporting disciplines.
We first met him in 2001 when he had one of our home lifts installed.
"The lift allowed me to move around my home. It made such a difference to be able to go upstairs like everyone else and be independent!"
His journey towards this years Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2021 has been filled with life changing obstacles from a Record Breaking junior world champion powerlifter, Bronze medalist for handcycling, bronze and silver medalist for air rifle shooting.
"I am now part of the Para-canoe GB sprint team and have represented GB since 2013 winning Silver at the Europeans in 200 meter sprint, and in the same year Silver at the World championships. In 2014 and 2015 I won Gold at the European championships and Silver at the World championships in 2014 which were held in Moscow and I achieved bronze in the 2016 Paralympics."
